Selection criteria

Candidates’ selection is based on the following criteria:

Degree classification – weighting factor 50%

– Schools of Economics: Degree classification x 1

– Schools of Science: Degree classification x 0.9

– Other Schools: Degree classification x 0.6

– Postgraduate Degree (if any): + 0,3

– Thesis/Dissertation (if any): + 10% x Thesis/Dissertation grade  

– Undergraduate modules relevant to the field of study of the postgraduate  

   programme (if any): +10% x average grade of the respective modules    

Reference letters – weighting factor 10%

Recommended 5

Highly Recommended 10

English language skills – weighting factor 10%

Good knowledge 0.3

Very good knowledge 0.6

Excellent knowledge 1

Personal interview – weighting factor 30%

The Committee assesses:

a. analytical and synthetic thinking, communication and leadership skills

b. the clarity of professional goals, career  motivation  

c. the candidate’s capability to contribute to the learning process of the programme

d. research, aside from thesis/dissertation already submitted (if any)

Assessment is based on the 10-point grading scale (1 the lowest grade).   

Selection process

Based on the selection criteria, the Admissions Committee draws up a list with the results of the assessment procedure, which is submitted for approval to the Department Committee. More specifically, the Admissions Committee:

  1. draws up a list of all applicants
  2. rejects candidates whose application is incomplete
  3. invites candidates to personal interviews    
  4. ranks candidates, based on the results of the assessment procedure, and makes recommendations for the final selection

  6.   In case two candidates have the same results, both can be accepted in the programme.
